OK, I know they also did Uncle Walter in Lawrence 'cause I was there! I
and a couple others were screaming for it the whole time and they would
look straight at us, and kind of give us a "but we don't wanna do that
one!" look. Of course, it was such an orgasmically tasty concert and
everything they played was sheer bliss, so even though every time we yelled
for it, they'd start playing something else, we still cheered eagerly for
whatever they chose. Then finally, a long while into the show, they
succumbed and played it. I don't know why they weren't keen on the idea...
it ended up being quite a crowd-pleaser...

Actually, I went to the Recycled Sounds (I think it was them!) store on
Westport in Kansas City and got 3 copies of the same poster at $5 apiece
(sold two to friends *hi julie*, and kept the other for my own personal
pleasure...) I don't know if it was all promotional then, because they
were in the "for sale" section with all the others... Actually, now that I
think about it, it wasn't Recycled Sounds (that's on Westport and Main),
it's a block or two from there, on Westport Rd. Good store, lotsa cool
stuff in the basement as well... Clerk looks a lot like Beck... weird.

A lot of people have been asking about a Windows95 theme. Well my web-page
has i think 6 different animated cursors to download. I sampled scenes
from their videos and shrunk 'em down into little cursor things! They're
really cool. Go to:

there'll be instructions on the page

Subject: BFF shirt story, Stop the Bus.

Hello Everyone,

I just have a little story to share. Today I was going home from Uni
today. I was catching a train home from Central station and I was going
through the gates and I was just going to walk straight through without
showing my ticket to the guard. Anyway, I sensed that the guard was going
to say something, maybe about checking my ticket, so I quickly took it out
to show him. But he said nothing of the sort. Instead, he said, " Ben Folds
Five, UNREAL!!" I was actually surprised and replied, " Aren't they
excellent?" as I passed through the gates.

Another time I was walking up thes steps at Uni. There is about 120
steps. And it is one of only two ways to get to upper campus. I dread going
up them. Anyway, I got up the top all puffed out and all and there was this
guy who said " I like your Ben Folds Five shirt!!" That just made me forget
how tired I was when I got to the top. It just made my day that there was
someone else on campus who liked them.

One more thing. At the Sydney Metro concert, Ben made up a song on
the spot. It was called stop the bus cos someone yelled out really loud ,"
STOP THE BUS!!!" When I say really loud, I mean REALLY LOUD!!! He said there
was actually a song called stop the bus. But I am sure he made it up on the
spot. Or maybe there really is.(???)

It was quite a funny somg. Something like: "Mr Busdriver can you
please take me to my house." Then something else like: "won't you stop the
bus, cos it is making me sick!"

        I'll be off now.
                        Keep Smiling,
                                        Anna B from Penrith.

Hey, you know this is really weird, but when I play hearts on my computer,
I'm playing against Ben, Darren, and Robert. Fit of insanity, and I never
got around to changing it. Weird...

One more (more related) thing....anyone seen any of the shows with Verbow
opening? I'm just wondering what everyone thinks of them....I like them a
lot, so I'm really curious. See ya.

I'm jumping out of my skin just waiting to see that show! I don't got to St.

Hi people that care,

I want to record straight from the sound board at gigs and stuff and was
wondering how you actually do it. What leads do you need, do you have to
be standing next to that sound board all night, does the sound man ever
offer to help out in anyway and other stuff. I just really wanna know it
all!!! And what about changing tapes or discs over? That'd be a pain in
the arse.
Also, if a sound board patch is impossible, what ways do you record
stealth? Coz I've done a couple of gigs straight onto analogue tape from a
mic that was clipped onto my belt ring thing and the quality sux
basically!!! It's not muffled, but it's usually echoey and is generally
crappy. Is there some sort of special mic that I should buy or something
for stealth recording?
   HELP!!! PLEASE!!! :)

Thanks and BYE!!!

i was wondering if anyone had any details on the 11/22 show in austin at la zona rosa? ive never been to one of their shows and i would really like to go, but i would like more info if possible, like times and cost, if anyone knows any of that.
also, regarding the story behind "steven's last night in town," i heard that they actually wrote the song for this guy steven, like jordan r said, because he kept saying he was going to leave, but then they actually gave it to him and that was why he eventually left, like he finally got the picture from them writing him this song. i find that slightly humorous.

Ben afterwards, and i must say... he's a pretty nice guy. Tee hee, he
failed his drivers license test twice when he was 16 due to a crappy car,
a cadillac he bought for $75... but it really made my day getting a
chance to not only see them live, but to talk to Ben. Just wanted to
share... adios!

Hey kids,
hope everyone had a good weekend. I did. I had an epiphany (yeah,
another one...i don't get out enough). I'm making a movie with some
friends...not like a cheezy video camer movie with no budget, I mena a
16mm camera and a budget of $45,000. So I was going through the script
today doing some revisions adnI was lisatening to "Whatever..." adn I
got to a montage sequence whle I was listening to "Smoke" and it
absolutely fits perfectly with the tone of the montage as well as the
events going on in the movie. I played the song for the production team
and everyone liked it so now my question is: how can I contact BFF
management to get permission to use it in our movie and how expensive
will it be? does anyone have contact info (frank?) anyone,
anyone...Bueller? I know it ain't hard to meet the guys (I did it at
HORDE this year) but I searched the Sony webpage and they didn't have
anything as far as that sort of info. so if any of you know anything,
please let me know, I would really appreciate it.

I've also been called a Helmet head by someone, not a BF5 fan.. coincidence?

long do they last without an opener? And why haven't I gotten any Magical

hola, todos. i am really tired today...i went to a ska show last night
(my first), and it was rockin'! i had a great time with all the oddly
dressed people, just skanking and rocking out. (btw, it was the Cherry
Poppin' Daddies) a while ago, someone said that they were at a ska show
(the bosstones?) and there was some violence. i just wanted to say that
i can see the potential for violence. you get these people that are
totally oblivious to everything except dancing and listening to the
music...those are usually the people that get a little crazy and start
flailing their arms, and twirling around. then, you have a few punks
there (by that, i mean those people with tempers that flare easily and
actually take out their anger on others), and the wildly dancing people
accidently hit/hurt them....there you go...a fight.
overall, i had a rad time last night...love that graceless dancing!!

did you set back your clocks??

Hi all,

If anyone else in the UK is trying to find the Lounge-a-palooza CD
without success (I've yet to see it in any shop), you could try asking
those nice people at Our Price to look it up on their computer. I did
this, and contrary to my expectations, I didn't receive a strange look,
tho' the assistant obviously hadn't heard of it. He found it on the
computer pretty quickly and put in an order for me! He said it should
be about 15.99 (which thankfully comes down to about 12 with my 25%
staff discount! Maybe there ARE some good reasons to work at Smiths
after all...). He did give me the catalogue number etc so if anyone
wants it, feel free to e-mail me privately.

Also, if anyone is going to the London concert on Dec 11, e-me (at least
it'll pass the time for the next two months or so...).

Cheers, May.
