hey all...

i put a short real audio clip up of don't change your plans...Please treat it
as what it is: a less-than-commercial quality recording of a yet-to-be-released
song. It shouldn't get in the way of sales...

ok, interesting and pointless story. i was having dinner at cutters
(this restaurant on the waterfront of seattle) and they have that musack
that plays ove the intercom.. and all of a sudden i hear these 3 chords,
and my ears perk up. ok, of course it was a ben folds five song, but
guess which one? FAIR, i couldn't BELIEVE it. i mean i've never heard
fair played anywhere else but from my cd player. damn i was in shock, i
threw down my napkin, and started shouting NO in disbelief. i got more
than a couple odd stares. but all is fair in love i guess.

I found this a while back on MP3.com.. I don't know anything about this band, so I am not calling them a
clone (ie. I don't know if they were inspired by BFF or anything), but the music is very similar.
http://www.mp3.com/artists/1/joe_deveau.html

Also, in response to the same remark (and don't let this rub you the wrong way), although we all love
BFF, it's not necessarily mainstream music. Last I checked, they're still touring fairly small venues,
whereas bands that create new genres are sellouts at the largest venues in the country. Yes, BFF is an
awesome band, but unfortunately the music doesn't reach enough people for clone bands to start saying
"Hey, let's get a piano, a bass and drums, and we can be famous too!"

Wow, you guys really ARE nice and helpful! I got a lot of responses when I
asked for rare BF5 MP3s - thank you!

I found everything I was looking for except:

Lonely
Silver Street
Free Bird

I don't know if MP3s of those even exist, but if someone has those, could you
e-mail me? Thanks!

Oh, and for those of you who are looking for rare BF5 MP3s, and you don't know
how those FTP sites work, just e-mail me and I can send over whatever you
need. It's the least I can do for all the help I got!

Thanks again you guys!

well hello

I've finally bought cakes album fashion nugget, and lo and behold I find
that the tune Ben Folds used to sing a song about robert sledge at some
concert, was from 'daria', one of cake's songs. and some of the phrasing
is the same too.
i'm sure everyone else knew that, but it's nice to enjoy a song and then
realise that folds n co, must have liked it too. cool.

moreover, (whoa, where did that word come from, miss university
graduate, I thought I had sworn that word off forever....) on 1999 last
night on jjj, the wonderful dj who's name i presently forget
(kingsmill.... ) mentioned that they were going to flog the guts out of
army and that 'they've done it again' re: army being another hit for the
band. I get teh feeling he thinks bff are cool. however, when he played
it they're still playing the edited version ('must be' instead of....)

actually they must have it on high rotation, because everytime I'm
listening to teh radio it seems to come on. which suggests massive
airplay or fortunate timing

oh yeh, I was at disorientation on saturday (VERY average) adn I saw a
lassie wearing the 'kiss my ass' tee adn I said hi and she and her pal
were nice and we had a brief but nice conversation. bff fans are so
cool.
